We are pleased to present you with the most important results of our teams in the months of November and December in this blog.
Minis
The basketball tournament in Wetzikon on December 10th was a great experience for our minis. They fought bravely and managed to score a victory, a draw, and three losses. We are very satisfied with their performance and thank all the parents who accompanied and cheered us on!
Juniors U14
In November-December, our juniors had three exciting games on their schedule. The first game against Oberthurgau Pirates on November 19th in Vaduz was a real thriller. Our opponents managed to get to the finish line with a one-point lead and won the game 57:58.
In the second game away against Chur, our boys showed a strong performance and won confidently with 81:21.
Unfortunately, the third game on December 9th against the group leaders St. Otmar from St. Gallen was less successful. The boys had to admit defeat with a score of 91:55.
Despite two losses, we are very satisfied with the quality of the game and keep our fingers crossed for the boys for the last game of the year away against STV Basket Kreuzlingen next Sunday.
Men
In the last few weeks, the men have celebrated two important victories in the H3LO basketball league. On November 19th, they prevailed at home against Chur with 84:74 in a game marked by a lot of tension and emotions.
Last weekend, they achieved a convincing away win against Glarus with 58:67, participating for the first time in years with a full roster of seven substitute players.
The board is proud of the high participation and congratulates the men's team on these successes.
Events
Another highlight of the year was the 2023 Student Basketball Tournament, which took place on December 2nd at the Gymnasium Liechtenstein. 16 teams from various secondary schools fought for the trophy in a fair and exciting competition. The girls of 1b from Gymnasium Liechtenstein and the boys of 1abc from Oberschule Vaduz emerged as the best teams in the end. We warmly congratulate the winners and thank all participants and helpers for their great effort. We hope to see you all again next year. Your Woodchucks Team.
